My Facial Skincare Routine

Hi Guys!

Happy New Year! I hope you all had a lovely Christmas and I am wishing you all the very best for 2016! I decided today to write my first post of 2016. I have been dying to get a post up, and I'm really disappointed because I had SO many posts ready to write for December, but December turned out to be an awful month for me and kind of ruined all blog related plans that I had made. On now to 2016 and my new years resolution is to definitely keep up the posts!

I decided today to write a post on my facial skincare routine as one thing I always search beauty blogs for is a good ol' skincare routine and because I am an absolute sucker for a skincare product! Guilty as charged...

I love reading about what other bloggers use, what products they would recommend and what ones go straight in the bin! I find that skincare products work completely different with different skin, and so I find that when people leave reviews about the product, I can usually learn about the way they work, and then figure out whether they will work well with my skin.

Personally I'm not the type of person that tends to get a lot of outbreaks. I tend to get a couple of bigger blemishes in one hit, but I find that my skincare routine definitely helps to keep my skin under control.

I have included links to all of the products I use for you to have a read-up or search through should you wish to!

Step 1 - Garnier Cleansing Micellar Water
The best thing I ever decided to do was to stop using face wipes. Although these work great for some people, for me they just didn't. I have fairly normal skin, not too dry or oily, but I found that these took out all of the moisture and goodness in my skin. I use the Garnier Cleansing Micellar Water. This can be purchased from any UK drugstore or supermarket e.g. Boots, Superdrug, Asda, Tesco etc. This is priced at around £3.50-£4.50 for a 400ml bottle which you get around 200 uses out of, however a LOT of places always have this on offer, so keep your eyes peeled and stock up when they do! I put a couple of drops of this onto a clean cotton pad and scrub. I find this leaves my skin feeling super soft and it gets all of my mascara off good and proper. The water is not perfumed so I find that this doesn't irritate my skin in any way. This is currently on sale at Asda for £3.50 for 400ml..

Steps 2 - Ponds Cold Cream Cleanser
Once all of the make-up is completely off I then apply a thin layer of Ponds Cold Cream Cleanser. I purchased this from Boots and it was £3.29 for 50ml. Although this can feel quite greasy when applying it, it is an actual god send! It puts all of the moisture back into my skin and I feel completely hydrated. I leave this on for 5-10 minutes before washing this off with a clean flannel and warm water. This is currently still selling for the same prices in Boots.

Step 3 - Clean & Clear Dual Action Moisturiser
Once I have rinsed off the Ponds cream, I then apply the Clean & Clear moisturiser all over my face and neck, (except my eyelids!) This moisturiser is so good because it tingles your whole face, and you can almost feel it tightening up your skin and it just feels so refreshing. I probably wouldn't recommend using this moisturiser if you have quite sensitive skin. I find that when I put this on my eyelids it burns them slightly with the tingling, so I try to avoid those areas (do let me know if you also use this moisturiser and if the same thing happens to your eyelids! If you use another product or perhaps an eye cream instead on your eyelids, please let me know of any recommendations!) I again purchased this from Boots and they currently have this on offer for £2.13 for 100ml!

Step 4 - Clean & Clear Energy Skin Brightening Daily Facial Scrub
And the award for the longest face scrub name goes too....
The next morning when I have a shower I rinse my face thoroughly, and then apply a little of the Clean & Clear Morning Energy Skin Brightening Daily Facial Scrub (that's easy for you to say!) You only need to use the tiniest little drop of this, it goes a long way! I apply this to my face (excluding the eye area) and massage it into my skin in a small circular motion. I then wash this off with a shower puff (those scrunchy looking things that nobody really knows what to use them for!) This then leaves my skin feeling super soft after a shower. I also find that when applying make-up it goes on so smooth and silky after using this face scrub, and it smells incredible too which is a bonus. This can be purchased from Boots, it is also currently on offer at £2.80 for 150ml.

Step 5 - Grown Alchemist Hydra-Repair Day Cream: Camellia & Geranium Blossom
After my shower before I apply my make-up I always use the Grown Alchemist day cream before applying a primer. This has got to potentially be the best smelling day cream to have ever existed. This cream keeps my skin completely hydrated all day long and it feels so soft after applying. This cream is quite pricey, but I think it is definitely worth it! I have always purchased this from Feel Unique. Unfortunately they are out of stock at the moment, but there seems to be many other places online selling this too. This is currently selling at £29.00 for 65ml.

As I mentioned when I first started my blog, I am by no means qualified in any way/shape/form with regards to any beauty products (as you can probably tell since I referred to a shower puff as a 'scrunchy looking thing!') but this is my personal skincare routine which I follow and I'm sure it will be completely different to many others, so please do let me know of any other great products that you may use, and whether these products have worked well or maybe not so well for you.

Thank you again for reading as always, and I look forward to speaking with you again.

Lots of love
